  • Sonia Paradis

Owner and Director of La Fabrique éthique

Offering courses for beginners, intermediate and advanced level.

Sonia teaches sewing with a caring yet pragmatic approach. A graduate in Fashion Design from Cégep Marie-Victorin (2001), she worked as a designer in several Montreal companies before turning to textile arts at Concordia University. She is also the founder of La Fabrique éthique, created from her desire to make textile creation more accessible and more humane.

  • With over ten years of experience in individual coaching, Sonia has developed a strong ability to demystify sewing. She enjoys simplifying techniques, getting straight to the essentials, and guiding each person toward efficient choices suited to their skill level, pace, and goals. Her technical eye is a real asset when it comes to adjusting a pattern or transforming a garment.

  • Curious and full of imagination, she particularly enjoys unusual projects and creative challenges. She encourages autonomy through practical, accessible methods, always promoting the joy and pride of creating tailor-made projects for oneself.

Her specialties: helping you understand the full potential of the sewing machine or overlocker, creating unique pieces (cosplay, drag outfits), adjusting patterns to your measurements, or just making a perfect hem.

What she finds most rewarding is seeing her students flourish. And her favorite reward is often simple thank you: “I had so much fun! You really helped me today.”
