Private Lesson - Learn or Improve My Pattern Fitting Skills

Level: I know how to thread a sewing machine, I’m comfortable sewing, and I’ve already completed a few projects. Now, I want to start sewing clothes to fit my measurements, but I sometimes have trouble finding or adapting a pattern to my body shape.

Goal: Learn to adjust a commercial pattern to my own measurements, with personalized guidance from a skilled instructor.

Duration: 3 hours. Please note: Sewing takes time… Depending on your project, multiple sessions may be needed.

Materials: You will have access to our tools, paper, a sewing machine, and fabric for basic adjustments. Please bring the pattern you want to modify, as well as fabric if a muslin toile is needed during the lesson.

Price: $100 (taxes included)

This course will be taught in French or English according to your preference.

What you'll learn: This private lesson is entirely dedicated to adjusting commercial patterns to your measurements. It is designed for anyone with basic sewing skills who wants to understand how to adapt an existing pattern to their body shape.

Your instructor will guide you through:

• Analyzing the chosen pattern in relation to your body
• Taking relevant measurements
• Learning key adjustment techniques such as height alterations, ease adjustments, and style line modifications
• Clearly and neatly transferring adjustments onto your final pattern
• Preparing a muslin toile if needed to test the adjustments
