Discover the Overlock (Serger)

This course will be taught in French. For our English-speaking students, the subject of this class can be covered during private classes with Sonia.

Level: All levels!

Objectives: Learn how to thread, adjust and make the most of the wonderful possibilities of the overlocker (also called a serger), to assemble stretch fabrics and create pretty finishes on woven fabrics!

Duration: 6 hours (including 30 minutes for lunch)

Materials: Tutorial, machine, fabrics and supplies included. You can also bring machine your own machine if you prefer :)

Price: $100 (taxes included)

Minimum 2 students / Maximum 5 students

The workshop and tutorials will be offered primarily in French, but we will be happy to support English-speaking students... because we are bilingual and love Montreal's multiculturalism :)

What you’ll learn: A 6-hour training day to allow you to familiarize yourself with the operation of an overlock machine. You will learn how to thread the machine, adjust the thread tension as well as the different stitches that can be made with this magnificent machine :) We will show you the different stitches that will allow you to finish woven fabrics, assemble stretch fabrics, make mini hems on lightweight fabrics, and much more :) We will also give you some sewing tips and techniques to help you succeed in your projects. The objective of this workshop is to allow you to understand the operation and the wonderful potential of this machine in order to avoid making big mistakes once you get home :)
