Level: Real beginner... I don't know how a sewing machine works... or I don't remember!
Goals : (Re)discover the world of sewing, the vocabulary, the tools, the basic techniques and know how to use a pattern to make a personal project.
Duration: 5 lessons / 3 hours per lesson / 1 lesson per week / total of 15 hours
Materials: You will have access to one of our sewing machines, tools, patterns, and tutorial. We have free fabrics from donations, but you may have to go shopping to purchase the fabric needed to make your own project if you don't like the selection available.
Welcome gift: We offer you access to the “Open Studio” and our sewing machines for a period of 2 hours (value of $20).
Price: $275 (taxes included)
Minimum 2 students / Maximum 5 students
What you’ll learn: This sewing class will teach you how to use a sewing machine and give you the tools to start creating your own projects!
- Lesson 1: General theory on tools and fabrics, learn how to thread and use the sewing machine, making a small case with clasp.
- Lesson 2: General theory on using a pattern. Select a project with the teacher. Copy and adjust the pattern. Choose a fabric (shopping may be required).
- Lesson 3: Adjust the pattern and cutting the fabric. Start sewing the project (for the fastest ones ;) )
- Lesson 4 & 5: Make your project.
