Level: I can sew a little but I have trouble understanding patterns :(
Objectives: An intensive day to understand and apply basic techniques to copy existing garments without having to cut them! Now is the time to say bye bye to these commercial patterns! Create my own patterns from clothes I already own and that fit me well :)
Duration: 6 hours (including 1h for lunch)
Materials: Paper and tutorials included. Bring a piece a garment you want to copy ... not too complex please :)
Price: $ 115 (taxes included)
Minimum 2 étudiants / Maximum 4 étudiants
Bilingual class: Please note classes are offered primarily in French. However, we will do our very best to provide english speaking students all the explanations needed in their native language, either by dividing the group or on an individual basis... because we love and embrace Montreal's diversity :)
What you’ll learn:
- Before noon: How to analyze and understand the structure of an existing garment and avoid rookie mistakes! Various techniques to transfer all the pieces of a garment into a pattern accurately
- Afternoon: Techniques to add seam allowances effectively. Pattern verification techniques. Techniques to identify each piece properly.
