Level: I know how to sew a little : I have already taken a beginner's course or taught myself, I know how to thread a machine, I have already used a pattern and completed one or two projects.
Young Adults and Adults Only (16 and over)
Objectives: Level up my costume-making skills through a few days of intensive training. Start or continue a costume project such as : a cosplay, a live-action role-play (LARP) outfit, a Halloween costume, a runway or performance piece, or even a drag ensemble!
Duration: 3 consecutive days/ from 9:30 to 4:30pm / Training of 18 hours total
Materials: To manage your time and learning effectively, we strongly recommend finding one or more basic patterns that can be modified to your taste and adjusted to your measurements. Basic materials and supplies (zippers, buttons, elastics, interfacing, etc.) are included. We also have a selection of fabrics available at the studio: some are for sale, others are free. However, we may not have the exact fabric or supplies you need (foam, padding, specific colors or details), so you might need to go shopping. If you choose to shop for additional materials, fabric costs will not be reimbursed.
Price: $315 (taxes included)
Minimum 2 students / Maximum 5 students
This class is bilingual.
What you’ll learn: Why a costume-focused camp? Because sewing a costume is quite different from sewing everyday clothing. It involves working with volume, exploring a wide range of materials, and finding finishes that are both effective and visually convincing.
This camp is designed to offer a supportive and inspiring environment for bringing your project to life... whether it’s for Halloween, the stage, a live-action role-play event, or an artistic performance. You’ll have access to a fully equipped studio, in a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.
There’s no theoretical component : everyone progresses at their own pace, with guidance and mentorship from the instructor. Pattern drafting, draping, adjustments, material selection, construction... we're here to help you move forward at every step. Whether you're starting from scratch or coming in to complete an ongoing project, you're more than welcome!
Please note that depending on the scale and complexity of your project, the sewing camp may not be enough to fully complete your creation. :)
