Where to buy fabric in Montreal and elsewhere?

A practical map to find your sewing supplies

Finding quality fabric can completely transform a sewing project, and fabric shopping is often something we enjoy… but it can also be time-consuming! Between different shops, neighbourhoods, and types of suppliers, it is not always easy to know where to look efficiently.

To help you find your way, we have created a Google Map featuring places to buy fabric and sewing supplies in Montreal and beyond.

Five layers of addresses

We have categorized our physical and online addresses into five categories. Click on   Google Maps icon - La Fabrique éthique  in the top left corner of the map to navigate the menu.

1-Fabrics and 2-Supplies & sewing machines (Montreal)

Here you'll find Montreal resources for your everyday projects: fabrics, supplies, and sewing equipment and tools. This is an ideal starting point to plan your purchases without leaving the island and to quickly find what you need for your sewing class!

3-Elsewhere in Quebec

This section includes addresses located outside of Montreal. Useful if you're traveling or looking for additional resources elsewhere in the province (we like to encourage local shopping!).

4-Elsewhere in Canada

Some resources are worth exploring nationally, especially for more specific needs, collections, or materials.

5-Elsewhere in the world

Because sewing goes beyond borders, this section gathers inspiring international addresses. Useful for discovering different approaches or keeping references while travelling.

A resource meant to evolve

The textile landscape is constantly changing! This map will evolve over time as we discover new places and as the industry shifts. It is not exhaustive (for example, it does not include online fabric stores). We have not tested all locations and cannot guarantee availability or opening hours. Please check details independently :)

In short, this map is a starting point that you can adapt to your own needs. :)

Feel free to ask your instructor for advice on materials for your project.
