Sew a leather wallet
Today, we'll show you how to make a wallet from scraps of leather in different colors. Our clean design will get you this project done in no time while giving you an idea of the techniques used in assembling leather accessories, a discipline in its own right called leathercraft!
You will need:
- Our wallet pattern available HERE
- Leather scraps of different colors
- A rectangle of fusible interfacing to glue the two thicknesses of wallet together
- Double-sided sticky tape
- Embroidery thread and a needle
- A thimble (optional)
- A punch and a hammer
- A metal ruler and an exacto/cutter
- A cutting board
Hand sewing is time-consuming, it's true. However, embroidery can induce a meditative state since it requires slow, repetitive movements. Okay, your fingers might be a little sore after putting this wallet together, but the result is worth it :)
