This course will be taught in French. For our English-speaking students, the subject of this class can be covered during private classes with Sonia.
Skill Level: I'm pretty good at sewing. I've made several garments from commercial patterns... but I sometimes have trouble finding patterns in my size.
Objectives: Learn how to adjust commercial patterns to my measurements.
Duration: 5 lessons / 3 hours per lesson / 1 lesson per week / total of 15 hours
Materials: You will have access to paper, our tutorial, our basic pattern, our tools, one of our sewing machines, and fabric.
Price: $295 (taxes included)

What you’ll learn: In this introductory course to pattern fitting, you will learn how to adjust a basic bodice pattern with sleeves and a basic skirt pattern to your measurements, then how to make and adjust a mock garment, also known as a muslin.
- Lesson 1: Theory: Understanding the relationship between your body and a sewing pattern, how to take your measurements correctly.
- Lesson 2: Explanation of how a multi-size pattern works and adjustment of the skirt pattern.
- Lesson 3: Adjusting the front and back bodice pattern (bust depth, bodice length, chest circumference, waist circumference, cup size and shoulder width adjustment).
- Lesson 4: Adjusting the sleeve pattern, checking the patterns and cutting your fitting fabric.
- Lesson 5: Assembling your muslin, fitting and transferring modifications to your final pattern.

This course follows a well-defined structure, which makes make-up classes difficult to organize. Your punctual attendance at each session will fully contribute to your learning experience and will be greatly appreciated. :)
